Gary Kent’s Shadows and Light gets rave reviews
March 15, 2010
Dalton Publishing author, stuntman, actor and director, Gary Kent has much planned for his book Shadows and Light: Journeys With Outlaws in Revolutionary Hollywood.
Kent was interviewed by Anthony Nicolette for his Toronto-based podcast, Canadianferox.com. The show, which highlights and reviews independent, sci-fi, and horror films, was aired Tuesday, 23 February 2010, and spotlights Kent’s 40+ years of working in Hollywood.
Gutmunchers.com, a popular online movie podcast reviewing the best in horror, sci-fi, and cult films, will air Kent’s interview with John Shatzer in mid-March.
Of special note, Kent will be appearing as a special guest star at the brand new Grave Robber’s Ball movie convention in Canton Ohio, August 2010. This highly anticipated convention will feature screenings, movie memorabilia, and an homage to Kent’s recently released memoir.
Rave reviews for Shadows and Light were recently received from the show-biz sci-fi/horror website, Kitley’s Krypt:
“While a lot of biographies that I read are usually informative, I have never read one that was as entertaining as this one. Not only did Kent’s stories have me on the floor laughing, but his way of telling them is priceless. His book shows us what true pioneers these independent filmmakers really were.”
“Like the movies that he worked on, they just don’t make them like Gary Kent anymore!”
Watch for another glowing review of Shadows and Light by book reviewer Laura Wagner in the March edition of the classic movie magazine, Classic Images.
