Latest News: Joe O’Connell’s Story Adaptation Plays This Month

“The Wager,†Janet Heimlich’s stage play adaptation of “The Gambler,†a short story from Joe O’Connell’s novel Evacuation Plan, will be featured during FronteraFest at Hyde Park Theatre on January 25, 2008 at 8pm.
“The Wager” tells the story of Fred, a man who gambles away everything that he and his wife own. They are forced to live with Fred’s father, Eugene, a convicted murderer who runs a halfway house for mentally ill parolees. When Fred tries to prove that he’s better than his “ex-con Papa,” Eugene decides to teach his son a life-changing lesson.
