Release the magic!
After fourteen centuries of imprisonment in his magic wand, Rowan, an ancient wizard, is finally released by a young boy. The boy, Cullen, is possessed by Rowan with a great power and a need to find lost love. When situations become dangerous, Rowan emerges from the frightened child to set things right. Both he and the boy try to understand what has happened to them, only to discover a deeper problem. Somehow Fiana, the wizard’s bride from the ancient past, has survived and become something evil.
Christine and Ethan Rose have marvelous imaginations. Often finding their inspiration among the trees, they write as they lead their lives - with plenty of adventure, magic, and love. Ethan grew up in foster care in Northern California, and he has read nearly every fantasy novel ever written. And, when he can’t read, he listens to books on tape, normally while working as a General Contractor. Christine holds her M.A. in Medieval/Renaissance Literature & Folklore. She wrote her Master’s Thesis on Le Morte D’Arthur and produced two documentary films. Mixing Christine’s scholarly, goal-oriented background with Ethan’s in-depth knowledge of modern fantasy has undoubtedly created a prodigiously talented team of authors that looks forward to writing many more books.
Praise for Rowan of the Wood
“This is a great addition to the wizarding world. You’ll find yourself reading it in a day because you won’t want to put it down.” -Austin Monthly magazine
“Like the Celtic knots tattooed on the arms of its namesake wizard, Rowan of the Wood weaves a brisk, well plotted adventure from compelling themes: ancient magic, bloodthirsty evil, timeless love, and the courage of a pure heart.” -Robert Stikmanz, author of The Hidden Lands of Nod series
“I would recommend Rowan of the Wood by Christine and Ethan Rose to people who like fantasy and adventure. There was only one bad word in the book; otherwise there was not much that parents would object to. This was a good book and I hope that everyone who reads it likes it as much as I did.” -Ben Weldon (age 10) for Reader Views
“The overall story is very good, the characters are believable, and the situation is bleak. Lovers of magic and fantasy set in the real world would do well to check this book out. A solid tale of magic, love, betrayal, and loss, Rowan of the Wood is well-inspired and lovingly written.” -Nothing Binding Book Reviews
“I found Rowan of the Wood to be an imaginative and fun read with a fairy tale flavor to it that will appeal to old and young alike.” -Midwest Book Review
“Rowan of the Wood is a fanciful and intriguing book about love, loss, magic and a centuries old quest…Overall, I would say that Rowan of the Woods is a fun and exciting book for teens. It will definitely keep them interested until the end. It offers a glimpse of the difference between good and evil, and how people could end up being either way.” - A. E. Jaskiewicz, Front Street Reviews
